H6sb 1 was assigned to the Altoona shops from at least 1937 until 1945. With its slope back tender, it was a featured locomotive during the 1937 Altoona Railfan event. At that time it did not have a power reverse, and therefore did not have a pilot deck air reservoir. A photo of a cut of new X40b box cars being shifted by H6sb 1 was published in Keystone Volume 19, number 2. In that photo all that is visible of the H6sb is the headlight and pilot beam - this time with an air reservoir and thus the conclusion that she received a power reverse. Im looking for photos and information on the appearance of H6sb 1 in her last years of service, and the date she was dropped from the active roster. Any info on this classy locomotive would be greatly appreciated.
